I like sharing ways each of you can use to increase the traffic to your website. This is one way to help out my fellow veterans out there!
Increasing Traffic
When your website is linked to from other sources, you increase the probability of more traffic being sent to it. Today, I took the time to fill out info at Veteran Owned Business (https://www.veteranownedbusiness.com/) by clicking on their Join Now! button at the top just right of the center of their website’s home page. Note that proof that 50% or more of the company is owned by a veteran must be provided in order to use this service.
It spent about a half hour to forty-five minutes accomplish this.
Veteran Owned Business Badge
It’s great to put badges on your website. They often involve the one-time process of placing some coding in the site at or near a place of your choosing to make them appear on your web page. If you lack either time or experience to do this, we at CharlesWorks would be happy perform that at a reasonable fee for you if you need us to.
Badges help your company. They link back to your website. They boost your credibility. Companies are more apt to be a good company to deal with if they are connected to many external sources of verification. People want to know that your company is expected to be around when they need you.
My favorite fly-by-night story is about it only takes knowing the difference between a hammer and a nail to be a contractor. We all know that anyone can open a business and sell you their products or services. But not everyone remains in business for the long haul! Time is an excellent filter. Remember, a company in business for a very long time is far more apt to care about its clients.
A Veteran Owned Business Badge Example
This Veteran Owned Business badge is an example of a round badge. This badge is available from the Veteran Owned Business website. It is very easy to install in your website. Using the link to your Veteran Owned Business profile is used to direct website visitors to verify that you are in fact a veteran owned business (like CharlesWorks!). Clicking on this badge will take you to the Veteran Owned Business CharlesWorks profile. These are usually great in page footers or within a page somewhere:
The bottom line is to try to fit your Veteran Owned Business badge someplace aesthetically pleasing on a page. Yet you don’t want it to distract from your content more than necessary. And don’t forget to make the hyperlink open a new tab or page using the target=”_blank” code in your hyperlink command text. You always want your site visitors to still have your webpages easily accessed once they have visited your site.
